Q: Is there much bullying in Chinese schools?

This is something I haven't really noticed. Back home it's a big problem of course, though my guess is that there isn't a concept of social groups or peer pressure as there is back home. Any thoughts?

I'd say there still is bullying going on but not to the extent to which it is back home. You don't see many big fights in school here. And even if they did I don't think the fight itself between the two students could be harmful. I've seen a grown man in his late 20's early 30's taking on a senior citizen and it just looked like two people hugging each other while screaming at each other.

The worst fight I've seen back in my middle school days was between two kids that didn't really care much for school. One of the kids said he was part of the gang called the Crypts. They are the one's that wear the blue head bandana's. The other kid said he was a wannabe one day they got into a fight in the cafeteria. The tall guy picked the other kid up like he was nothing slammed him on the table and the other kid grabbed a school knife and stabbed the kid in his arm.

So even if there was bullying it's not anything like back home!

bullying is much more than just physical violence. for example yelling "you smell of farts" would be bullying

Yeah, I know but it's the bullying which leads to serious fights. Words can have some type of psychological affect on people. I do agree. I think that's the reason why so many people that were bullied commit violent crimes later on in life or commit suicide because of bullying.

In the case of the two kids it was the bullying that actually caused the violence. And you have to remember compared to back home the kids I've seen here are rather small. At least that's what I remembered when I went to school. It's probably because we have a big athletic program back home and a lot of the parents sign their kids up for that sort of thing. I know I played lots of sports myself.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
