Q: Is there a place to report schools that dont pay like Maron

Is there a place to report schools like Maron that hire foreign teachers then don't do anything that they agreed to in the contract such as the correct wages, work visa etc. Then they steal your last months pay. is there also a way to warn other foreign teachers about schools liike Maron.

Well as far as warning other foreign teachers abobut the school Maron I think you just did that.....by posting this question on here.

As far as reporting schools I'm sure there is some labor laws that will assist you in claiming your wages in some type of court battle!. I don't think the embassy you belong to will do anything about it...I read that somewhere.

If you are employed with correct visa (Z), and other paperwork, you can report them to Foreign Expert Bureau in the city you are in.

Make sure, you are employed with correct visa (Z), and have Residence Permit, before you go to FEB. I suggest, you visit FEB with Chinese translator.

You can also seek advice and late salary at Public Security Office (Exit Entry Police) in the city.

I'm assuming that you work here illegally. Why?

MARON/etc only hires people on F, or L visas. They generally do not take people on Z visas because they wouldn't be able to to screw them. Instead, they rely on a giant stream of gullible foreigners who get tricked by evil recruiters time and time again. They work you until they're done with you, and then they won't have to pay you because you're working illegally!

Of course, not all schools cheat their illegal teachers, but in the bigger cities (I'm guessing you're in Guangdong province?) it's not even worth the risk.

The best way to warn people about schools like MARON is... don't work illegally. Get a Z visa or get out. While most schools in smaller cities aren't likely to cheat their teachers, you can be damn sure you'll be cheated left and right in the bigger cities. There are simply more than enough gullible foreigners to replace you in case something goes wrong.

If, however, you're here legally, go to the PSB. Dispute everything with the PSB, and they should be able to take care of it.
