Q: There really are some nice people in Shenzhen.

My son and I got caught in the rain as we were going home from the supermarket and this man gave shelter to my boy with his umbrella from the rain, until we got to some shelter.

There are nice people everywhere, the problem is the fair amount of fuckers who ruin it for everyone else.

Similar happened to me in 2009 in Tangshan. I was fresh into China, and was walking through the city in rainy, covered with baseball cap. Chinese woman stepped out of the store and offered me umbrella.

I instinctively pulled out my valet, but she declined... She felt sorry for me and just gave me an umbrella.
