Q: Is there such thing as being here too long?
I've had some conflicting feelings lately about being here. I do want to be here, but at the same time I am more than happy to be going home for a short time soon. Was just wondering if there is such thing as being in China for too long? I really admire those of you who can live here for several years or longer without going home.
I'm sure there is such a thing as being here too long, but it would vary from person to person. I have been here for 3 years now without going home, and I definitely have days where I wonder what the hell I'm doing here.
I hope not, 
I intend to spend the rest of my life here and I most definitely hope that is a long time!
Well i've been here a bunch of years now and I guess i'm pretty much settled. Doesn't mean I never miss home, but only rarely. I've even had dreams where i'd moved back home and found I couldn't get back here. I was glad to wake up and find I hadn't. China can be challenging though, there's no doubt about it, particularly if you get a 'me against them' attitude, which happens plenty. I reckon if you don't want to stay here after a year, you ain't going to want to after two.
Maybe It's time to leave, when You see only spitting, garbage and those little devils all around, and when everything You say about China can be expressed as :

This question returns again and again... when someone feels bad and have the freedom to leave - maybe should leave and feel better
