Dude, people want to know something about you and what you are like before they consider being your friend.
Why would someone want to be your friend? What do you want or hope to achieve by having a foreign friend?
Are you male or female?
As you can see, I for one would like a bit more information before i would consider even talking to you.
So come on....share a bit of yourself.

There is nothing I hate more about China than people who want to be my 'friend' in order to practice their English freely, I piss them off by speaking Chinese all the time and they quickly give up on the idea.

I'm not surprised by the fact that lifelong friendships don't exist in this society. The Chinese definition of friendship seems to be 'how can I exploit people for my own benefits'.

Being friend with your coworkers while you work together then never talking again once you quit the job also isn't friendship. Ignoring people for 6 months or a year until you need them is even worse.
