Does anyone have any experiences with playing poker online for money here in China? Good or Bad? If good was it difficult to withdrawl winnings? What sites are you using? Any input?

Thanks

Never played online in China or anywhere else, but I do have a tip, courtesy of a friend of my father. He's in England and he plays on an American site. He always waits till it's about 4am over there before he plays, that way his opponents are often drunk, tired or both. Apparently he makes pretty good coin with this method.

Thanks...Do you know what site he was on? How long ago, if not still playing?

Used to play occasionally, nothing serious, just for a few £'s to pass the time.  I used a British site and agree with Martian, it was noticeably easier when it was 4/5/6am in Britain.

Haven't played for several months mainly due to the ever increasing VPN issues. You need a stable VPN connection and as that's becoming increasingly difficult to come by, it's just too frustrating to always be disconnected and have to log back in etc...

I used my British bank account to deposit and withdraw so never had any issues. No idea if you can do it with a Chinese account.

never done it, but in the past i did keep up with the "poker scene".  A few things come to mind.

I remember a story about an online poker biz out of costa rica, that used an illegal algorithm in order to win (steal) from other online opponents. It would digitally "stack the deck", and say give you an early solid full house, only to be beated by quads on the river, etc.

A big scandal involving poker pros in the USA, and the US govt IRS. cant rememebr the specifics on it, but seems one poker pro practically stole alot of the digital money forcing the biz to file bnakruptcy.

-----

its not uncommon for a small goup of people to all get on one table and collude with one another in order to win most of the pots. So, as an example on a table of 8, 4 of them know each other, know what cards each oither has, and might even be in the same room playing side by side.  they try to rickshaw the betting against you or others in order to win. they use each others cards to get a better advantage of outs and such for a better statistuical advantage against all the individuals being played against.

it doesnt work all the time, but over a number of games, the advantage adds up considerably.

you have been warned...

I used to play online way back when. I did not notice any scams, but I played mid level tables. Once, my ace high flush lost to a straight flush right before the final table, but whatever. I used to play a lot.

I don't know any Chinese websites. Can you list them? I would play for low stakes, just for fun.
