Q: The time of one's birth secret in China?
Any truth to this. Something about not telling other people exact date of birth for fear of XYZ. Hocus pocus?
Yeh, I heard something like that. The wife says it's a mixture of superstition and the worry of identity theft. Fear of this and that and the other. Too many fears and superstitions for my liking. My wife's mother won't let us go out on one night of the year because of ghosts and stuff. Got superstitions and hocus-pocus up the yazoo. Lovely woman but crazy as a shit-house rat.

Hi Martian, just had to say great description at the end there, "crazy as a shit house rat". Thanks for the laugh, I will have to remember that one.
I haven't heard anything like that, but I have heard that the first 9 months in the womb counts as year 1. So all of my friends who are the same age as me actually count their ages differently so they are one year older than me.
bigasspanda:
True and fascinating tough.
Plus a lot of people seem to have no clue what's exactly their age, due to the Chinese and Gregorian calendars confusion.
