Hi DD,

If you're coming in through BJ West, that now connects to the metro via the line 9 (which just opened). From there you have several options but you'll want to end up at Dongzhimen (line 2) or Sanyuanqiao (line 10) to pick up the airport express to Beijing Capital Airport.  A one-way fair is 25 RMB I believe. Beijing South railway station and Beijing railway station are also connected to the metro.

DaqingDevil:

OK guys. Got it. Thanks. I am familiar with the Beijing Metro but I have never taken a train from Harbin to Beijing as I usually fly from Daqing to Beijing. And yeah I sorted out from which station in Harbin I will be departing. Just needed to know if I could access Beijing metro from Beijing Station. I am holidaying in much warmer climes and I carry no warm clothes like gloves, jacket, scarf, long underwear and a hat when I do this in the winter so I stay in the stations and in the airport. Less luggage that way. I travel light.

From what I can tell, all of the trains from Harbin to Beijing will come to Beijing Railway station (not North, South, East or West....just "Beijing"....).  But it looks like you have options as far as departing from Harbin, Harbin East, or Harbin West stations.

DD, you can also look at CNVOL for info on train departures, arrivals and tickets cost:

http://www.cnvol.com/

If you can't find info for departure Train stations before traveling, you will be able to talk English with operators in Beijing Train stations. You could maybe have Train Station name written in Chinese characters. Then, you can ask luggage handlers about right direction, too.
