You have a 1 hour window when you first board the train to use the toilet after that it's a deathtrap... Bring your own food, drinks and entertainment... That's about it.
Are they squat toilets or... western toilets?
I'm gonna have to pack some adult diapers for those special times.

Prepare for a chat... or 2.
Always bring TP and something to drink.
Take a dump in your favorite local clean toilet before departure. Bring TP, food and water for the ride. Watch your valuables like a hawk. Hand sanitizer, if you can find it, will go a long way.
Good question, if you travel K Trains be prepared (even if you have a seat) for hussle and bussle so many people will get on and crowd!
I found the D train to be really good. Do some research before you leave
If it's slow don't go would be a general idea that there are a lot of people on it
If you have a local to help or can speak the lingo it's all good. Only minoir issue is the above mentioned toilets. If you cant communicate the C and D trains are still great but the cheaper K and T trains might be worth paying extra for a soft seat or sleeper. Just be as careful with valuables as you would in any other country. In my opinion trains are the way to travel. I cant wait till my next trip.
