Q: Transferring to new company

Hi All,

I am currently working in Dalian and I have to transferring to the new company with the same industrial from company A to B, The A company will be terminated me by April 30 and the new contract of company B will be started by May 1.

Unfortunately I will take a home leave trip to Thailand from 2014-05-01 to 2014-05-20 which mean I am unable to transferring on time.

Could anyone  provide the answer that Is there any fine or punishment if I delay me transfer to new company about 1-2 weeks or will the company cancel my visa during I am traveling on my trip.

By the way, The both company will handle my case by file the application and explanation letter to the PSB and government.

Thank you in advance,

Ardie.

If everything is signed for the new company, you should contact them and let them know why you are going to arrive late.

Chances are if you are up-front and honest, things should be fine - you are just starting late.

How soon before signing with company B did you know you were going to travel, or is it a last minute emergency ?

I think we need to ask the right question here.

"When does your current visa end?"

Most companies won't go out of their way to cancel a working Resident permit visa or pay the cancellation fees at the PSB.

Ardie:

Hi ironman510,

My current visa will be expired on July 23 after I come back 2 months.

ironman510:

I would recommend coming back by June 1st, this gives you enough time to renew the visa or find a new job to transfer the visa to.

Anything after July 23th will be too late! You'd have to start the Z visa deal all over again. So if that's the case, ask B. Company to give you all the documents now to get a new Z visa and try to plan, date it and have it in your hand by July.

If I were you I wouldn't risk losing your RP, they're golden these days.. Not as easy to replace it as it was before.

Hi ironman510,

I will return to China by May 20, and immediately file all the documents to transferring a RP and WP to new company.

What I am concerning now is will they cancel my RP or not and is there any problem if I do a postpone transfer.

Beside my WP will be transfer in advance by A and B during I am on my trip.
