Q: U.K. Passport
I'm after a little help.I'm looking for the Chongqing uk passport renewal contact info.I've already checked the Embassy website loads of times,as anybody applied for and gotten an appointment from the new visa office?How did you apply for the appointment?TIA
ScotsAlan is correct. The UK no longer issues passports outside the UK. I think you can apply for them at consulates but the paperwork gets sent to Liverpool. There has been a big fuss in the last week as the Guardian got hold of documents showing there was currently a huge backlog of passport applications from expats.
From in what i've read expect at least a 6-8 week wait for a new UK passport if overseas.
As above. The consulate will verify and send the paperwork but it will be returned to the UK for processing. Then your passport will be sent back to China.
I read yesterday that UK resident living overseas were going to get a one year extension to their passport. Didn't see any information on how do get it though.
