Q: US politics - buying control... is it better?

I just heard that legislation has been passed that allows corporations to make unlimited political donations (wehre before it was limited).

This, in my mind, means that the rich will get much much richer, and the poor get more and more pharqed...

Thoughts??

For that matter - what's the best political system we should be able to attain with today's technology?

This was not passed through legislation but was a judgement made by the Supreme Court based on their "interpritation" on the US Constitution in regards to the "personhood" of a corporation, which basically says that corporations have the same rights as persons in all matters.
The free flow of money from corporations into "Super PACS" is a loophole that was permitted because of this very obviously biased ruling by the SCOTUS.
The irony is this new ruling is the direct result of money buying power.  It goes back to the rebublican presidents that appointed the majority of the current supreme court...and nothing will change until some of them retire or die and get replaced.

Thanks for the clarification - it was just something I heard while streaming radio, and reading a thread at the same time, so I didn't get it clearly :)

This was passed a few years ago by Bush..  And it's BS.  Corporations are NOT individuals and shouldn't be able to make large donations to political campaigns.

It's just a matter of time till we cut out the middle-man (the State itself), and big companies like Walmart and Apple get their own seat in Congress.

I thought they were going to go the other way on that. Riots are required to rectify it.
