Q: Valentine's Day....what will you and your partner being doing?
This Valentine's Day coincides with the 15th day of the Spring Festival, which is also the Chinese Lovers' Day. Will hotels be fully booked? Valentine's Day has become more popular in recent years in China, especially with those born after 1990. What are your thoughts?
Before, During, or After?

It all adds up doesn't it, I mean whether it's before, during or after. In my opinion, the "before and during" would be rather pleasing. The morning after, well, when you wake up and wonder what you did in that drunken stupor you'll either puke or go into an extended Valentine's.
For the previous Chinese Valentine's day, I tried to take my gf to the nice-ish local Japanese restaurant. After we had put in our order, they came back and said sorry...there is a 500rmb minimum tonight just because of the holiday. Other than ordering the ridiculously overpriced kobe beef (probably fake), there was no way 2 people could eat 500 rmb worth of food here....so I told them to shove off. We went and ate baozi instead for 20rmb. Maybe we'll just go straight to the baozi place this time, as I expect most nicer sit down restaurants will be:
1. packed
2. overpriced
3. ready to make my blood boil
My wife's working...will just get her a small present and eat at home.
