Q: Visa in Hong Kong, still available?

Hello,

I have read many posts about the more strict Chinese visas regulation and some changes in the visa issuance. Does that affect Hong Kong visa run as well? I had no problems to get my visa in special company dealing with visas last year, what about this year? Is it still possible to get Chinese visa there?

Last I heard, only Z visa can be done in HK and only if it's specified. All other visas have to be out of your home country. Check the link below.

WHen I went last year they told me I could only get a 14 day tourist visa, a student visa or a working visa.. Obviously with all the necessary documents. Can't do a business visa there anymore.

You can only get a Z visa in Hong Kong now and it must be addressed to the Hong Kong government and all other visa's can only be done by a Hong Kong Resident with a HK ID.

You can ignore ironman's comment, that is what the law says but it seems like (I just did a google search) they are issuing double-entry tourist visas and business visas (just use an agency like Forever Bright) as well as Z visas. Back-to-back tourist visas with visa runs to HK are not going to be issued, so if you've been doing that or doing extensions of visas inside of China, time to make some other plans.
