Hey,
So I heard there's some new visas. 10 year, multiple-entry visas with residence permits and all that jazz. I've been reading the Chinese consulate website, but there's not a whole lot of information on it.
Has anyone gotten one? If so, how?

Hi Hulk:
I did, was easy, so do not worry.
Remember, tourist visas to China have different subcategories, and 10 year visa applies to all of them. In a tourist visa you have three components, the "validity"; the number of entries and the days of "stay". The only effect of the change to 10 years is in the "validity", all the others stay as before. So, you can get a 10 years visa with one entry (who will want that?), 3 entries or multiple entries. And if single you get 30, 60 or 90 days stay, if married to as Chinese national, then 120 and upwards.
Of course, whichever you get, if married to a Chinese National, once you enter China, after you register your address with local Police nearest your home here, you go to PSB and apply for RP, and if you have all proper documents, it will be granted. First time you get one year on permit, and on the fifth year, if still married, you will get 5 years. Some PSB will grant 2 years RP after a couple have been issued, depends on location.
Two more things beore I close. Remember RP takes over as your visa once RP is issued, so it makes no difference on what visa the Embassy gives to you, you will need the visa to enter the first time and then get the RP.
And second, if you plan to work here, remember you will need a work visa, not a tourist visa. And, at least in Nanning, when you report your address to local Police Station, if later than 24 hours from entrance, first time you get a warning, from second time on, it is an "X" yuan fine per day late after 24 hours.

I am going to get another one to go to America(Could be 10 years also) lately. I plan to visit New York on October.(Sucks,I can only have long holiday until October for me to go)
Also a company in Germany who is in the same industry I am working in might hire me.
It was a potential client of mine who I met one year's ago on an internatinal business transcation site. He gives me option to work in Guangzhou office or German office.
