Q: Was an official explanation for the UFO over Hangzhou ever given?

A while back, Hangzhou airport was shut down and flights cancelled/diverted because they spotted a UFO. What was the explanation for that? There are so many UFO sightings around the world lately (anyone see the Jerusalem and London UFO videos of late?), but we're never given any proper explanation. I want to know if some of them are UFOs and whether we should be getting worried.

Yes. It was an unscheduled air plane.

PLAF or whatever those assholes are called in the Chinese Air Force control about 85% of Chinese air space, they can shut down airports and airspace as they damn well please. It wasn't an UFO, probably an un scheduled military flight

'Official' explanation of UFO balls on Oz beach. Oz, not New Zealand.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/austral...

10:37AM BST 03 Oct 2014
Thousands of extremely rare mossy green balls have been washing up on Dee Why Beach near Sydney, Australia. The phenomenon is believed to have been caused by algae being rolled into balls by the movement of the waves.
Associate Professor Alistair Poore from the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of NSW said the balls were probably a rare type of living green algae, which has only been seen a handful of times around the world.
"I’ve seen similar things - sometimes dead sea grass can roll around and form balls like underwater tumbleweeds but that’s made of dead material and these look to be living," he told the Manly Daily. "It is a habit known as "aegagropilious", where the algae is free living (not on rocks) and forms into spherical balls. They’re pretty interesting," Mr Poore said.
Warringah Council spokeswoman said lifeguards discovered the balls had returned to the beach on Thursday and the environment team was having a look at them.
“They’re pretty excited because they are so rare,” the spokeswoman said. “They have caused great interest from UFO watchers.”

Are they UFO watchers in Oz too? Not only in China?

What about New Zealand? Do they have watchers there too or NZ is different?

You can't be!

You're from NZ, what is different 'matter/antimatter' than Oz

I misunderstood! You mean 'I'm UFO watcher'?

Do you ever get neck pain/spasm, while endlessly watching?

If I would ever get proposal to join 'watchers', I'd rather write my ph.no. on the (big) piece of cardboard with message 'CALL ME!', and leave it on the ground. O2, o2

Why? What's to get worried about?

Explanation after 80Y of studying! Where is pfwam-sox?

http://rt.com/news/193192-particle-fermion-matter-antimatter/

After 80 years of painstaking experimentation, scientists have directly observed a sub-atomic particle that is its own antiparticle. The breakthrough promises a leap forward in quantum computing and potentially shows the path to finding dark matter.

The particles are called the Majorana fermions, after the Italian scientist who proposed their existence back in 1937. Quantum theory was in its infancy at the time, and scientists first theorized that antimatter existed: an opposite particle to the commonly-observed electrons and other particles were necessary for quantum equations to work.

The setup was first proposed by Russian-born physicist Aleksey Kitaev, now a professor at the University of California-Santa Barbara, who predicted in 2001 that Majoranas would emerge on the ends of a superconductuve wire under certain magnetic conditions. Given a certain length of the wire, these particles would not annihilate each other due to spatial separation.

The experiment not only confirms that the world indeed works the way quantum physicists thought it did, but has potential for practical applications in quantum computing. A quantum computer operates qubits, basic elements that can represents not only ones and zeroes, but also a quantum state of superposition that is a one and a zero at the same time. The biggest potential field of application of quantum computing is encryption and code breaking.

The observation of the Majorana fermion has opened the door for other theories as well. Scientists are already seriously considering that neutrinos and anti-neutrinos could be one particle and a kind of a Majorana. The properties and behavior of a neutrino are not dissimilar to that of the Majorana fermiones.

Furthermore, Majoranas are a strong candidate for dark matter – the mysterious substance that comprises most of the universe yet remains elusive because it doesn't interact with regular mater in any way but through gravity.

Once, I worked in Lin'an, 20km out of Hangzhou, so I'm well informed…..on 'neutrinos & gravity' matterangel

Has anybody seen this?

In a stunning new video, a 28-year-old trials cyclist Danny MacAskill tackles the never-before-ridden Cuillin Ridge in his native Scotland, to and from the pinnacle. The death-defying ride features sheer cliffs, rugged peaks – and unbelievable stunts.

MacAskill’s adventure was captured in thrilling cinematic fashion by Stu Thomson and his team at Cut Media, supported by Five Ten and ENVE Composites. The bike rider also used a first-person view camera offering dramatic views of heights and chasms inches away from his chosen trail.

To make his trip extra cool, MacAskill chose to arrive to the foot of the cliffs by rowing boat – and conquered the sheer Inaccessible Pinnacle at its apex, never parting from his bike.

The resulting seven-minute video called ‘The Ridge’ was posted on video sharing site YouTube on Thursday and instantly went viral, with the counter showing more than 3,300,000 views as of Saturday evening.

Fascinated viewers took to social media to discuss the effortless way the stunt cyclist jumps over huge rocky gaps and makes flips in places that few men would dare to climb. The rugged traverse on the Isle of Skye is a challenge for pro-level climbers, let alone cyclists.

“It should not be your first ambition in the Cuillin unless you are a highly competent mountaineer,” Sky Guides, a climbing company that specializes in the Ridge Traverse, warns on its website. “Like many aspects of mountaineering, the Traverse is fundamentally dangerous.”

“Ever since I was a kid growing up on Skye I have always dreamt about riding a bike up on the Cuillin Ridge,” MacAskill told PinkBike, a biking website. “The project took a lot of planning and was probably one of the most physically demanding films I have ever worked on! It was definitely a labor of love though, as I wanted to show off the island for how it is and make everyone who lives there proud to be from this amazing part of the world.”

A documentary about the attempt will air on the UK’s BBC One next Friday.

MacAskill is known as one of the world’s most fearless trial cyclists. He began documenting his exploits in 2009, when he released a 5:30 minute street trials video on YouTube set to ‘The Funeral’ by the Band of Horses. Since then, the Scotsman’s notoriety has only grown with each viral video. As ‘The Ridge’ was posted on Cut Media’s YouTube page on Thursday, it started gathering literally a million views a day, and attracted thousands of likes and comments on social media.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
