Q: The weird relation

Recently been upset. part of the reasons is because of the gloomy moist weather.I feel sick . I  really  am. do feel uncomfortable . the worse thing is I can't go and have the mandarin lesson. My students can't see me this way.So I rest home for almost 3 days ...

The weird thing is ,when I am resting , I call and text my friends ,nobody reply ! Normally, They will reply me soon. But now ,it feels like the whole world is sick and resting !

Now i do believe ,one has some emotionally mysterious relation with the world around you . When you are happy, the whole world is happy;when you are not , the world will never be happy .

We're OK here in Xin. Have sunny day, cold (+2*C), snow is melting, and soon I'll do some gardening. Still looking for the horse manure.

Today, I'll head to ICBC, and close my account. Nobody at the Bank understands English, so I must drag Chinese teacher every time I want to talk to the counter person. I hate to bother people, so I'll close my account, and force School to deposit salary to my CMB account in Urumqi, what is apparently big problem.

At my School, I had English corner packed yesterday afternoon. Mostly Grade 4, and some of the best students from Grade 3.

When we started last May, we had aprox. 30 students in the class. We were learning short English dialogs, which I nicked (photocopied) from Dalian Jordan School English books.

However, yesterday we had more than 90 students, and we had to conduct EC in two classrooms. Grade 5 Chinese English teacher had second classroom with around 40 students.

I was thinking, every Head teacher assign best students to participate in 2X40' classes of EC every Friday. Now, I'm guessing EC is voluntary.

During last week's lessons in Grade 4, lesson was 'counting' from 1 -29. We did 'counting game', and I corrected their 13 -19 pronunciation. Chinese sound at these numbers is always too short, so I made them sing -teen after each number.

I think, 'blame' for the bad mood goes to each individual, and not 'because of other people', or 'Sun's too close to the Earth', and similar 'reasons'.

'I'm sharpening all knifes' guy is screaming outside. I have to go….O2

Yes, mostly I have blast in China. However, today is Saturday, so ICBC was closed. But, I get cop with a bit of English ability on the crossing in my city. I 'show&tell' him (that I want his whistle), and he walked me some 200 m to the stationary store. I bought whistle for 2 Rmb, so I'm all set for the next week (traffic and things).

Do more exercise.

DrMonkey:

Amen to that. Something as simple as running 30 minutes a few times a week is a good mood lifter. You feel you have done at least one good thing of your day. Not running like an old grand-ma, running so that your lungs burn a bit and you feel your legs. Plus, you do exercises: improve your hearth, bye bye flabby shapes ^^

I'm forked on your suggestion! I have '3rd degree flat feet'. I don't really suffer, but I'm using it always as an excuse for 'not walk or run' too long

I love exercise but hit the gym more than anything else.  I sorta threw all cardio right out of the window despite having done a lot of running in the past.  Just didn't want the running to cause me to lose weight here in China as it is so easy to lose body mass here....

The gym is both nice and frustrating,  lack of gym etiquette is a strain on patience, and all the loud grunting and weight slamming just contributes to that.

Running is definitely good...  if not that then some other kind of cardio, or hell, a simple walk in a place with no cars.   :)

"reply soon" is very relative. if you're busy, you'll have a reply before you know it. if you're sick in bed with no other contact, the reply comes very slowly. Keep in mind, tht if you mention your sickness in the text, then that gives people sad little faces :pout:. Don't expect full enthusiasm when they reply to you.

no-one should expect to feel happy/positive 100% of the time: it is not a natural human condition.

It is the contrasts / ups-and-downs of life that make it interesting.

i accpet the low points in my life because i know that they will pass, and it means even the worst BCD will be balanced by a great day.

when things go well, i appreciate the contrast any enjoy life
