It depends on where you are and how much research you do into a center before you send her.

I sent my boys to daycare that was supposed to be run by ex-teachers. It was cheap and dirty. The boys were happy with the place though and there were no physical altercations or other problems.

The boys are now in a kindergarten, supposedly a prestigious one. It's expensive but the teaching quality and classroom management is poor. Some of our neighbors sent their child to different kindergartens and we hear the stories of abuse and over-pressuring the children to perform.

There's also the sickness factor to consider. Foot and mouth is rampant in certain parts of the south and my kids pick up every cold that the other kids bring to school so they spend an inordinate time being sick.

It's a tough call as to how old is old enough. I started the boys in daycare at two and kindergarten at three. Personally, I think that was too young but they seem to be doing all right.

My daughter will go to Kindergarten this year, (start in Sep / Oct) she will be 3 but only just.

The rules (in our kindergarten) are the children must be out of nappies before they will accept a child.

Shop around we're using the local kindergarten (it's actually in our apartment complex) but we're using it because it's good, it's clean and has decent security. It doesn't teach English but the nearest one that does costs an extra 1000RMB a month and isn't as good a kindergarten, (I'll continue to 'teach' her English). Our priorities weren't what the child will learn i.e. actual subjects, but more a safe and fun environment where she can learn about 'school life' and how to interact with other kids. The actual education itself, will happen at Primary and Junior High.

2 years age you can send for child growth.

I agree with the other responders  .. it really depends where you are and how much your willing to spend. My son Started Eton House in Suzhou at 2.5 yo (30 months) and has never looked back he loves it. He is the youngest in his class but he is very smart and social. The school has what they call nursery 1-2 so the young children are not a problem (nappies or not). My son was potty trained but accidents still happened from time to time. I just pack an extra set of clothes for him. So, as a parent I would say do a lot of research and ask if you can even send him in for a trail day.  Then stay and come back after a little while and watch how he does in the class setting. If he seems to be well manored and has few problems then he's ready.Yet, if he doesn't listen to the teacher and is a distraction to all around him and the class maybe it would be best to wait another few months and try again. So it really depends on the child and what you are looking to spend. Good luck and no matter when you start your child; you can still work with them at home. This gives them a love of learning a helps build a strong foundation for learn for the rest of their life.
