Q: What appliance(s) do you have back in your country that you wish you had now?

I miss my clothes dryer and I could really use a gas oven-

For me it would be an electrical grill plate like the one below : (they are good to make pancakes)

Buffalo Electric Grill Plate - high quality and heavy duty kitchen appliances
and of course, a real gas BBQ on an SS cabinet on wheels.  And a clothes dryer would also be welcome.  I am lucky to have a nice electric oven do.

With you on the oven, although it's really inexpensive to buy a small one if the desire for baked potatoes becomes too much.

On the other hand, I can't find a toaster anywhere...

HappyExPat:

Check on Gomz' if you have one nearby, they have toasters in all sizes and colors.

Oven, clothes dryer, food processor, toaster. In that order.

Thumbs up on the oven! I love to cook chicken and roast in the oven. We just bought a small clothes dryer and have been putting it to good use.

I have to agree with a lot of these:

Full sized oven, clothes dryer, a nice Kitchen-aid mixer (with meat grinder and pasta attachments), food processor, bread maker (really miss that - oh sour dough bread... but I could also do that with an oven), tortilla press, coffee bean grinder, hand blender, BBQ grill, rotissarie, waffle iron, food dehydrator (I miss home-made jerky...), smoker,...

And of course:  THE CLAPPER.

Is it me, or does "The Clapper" sound like a lady of ill repute?cheeky

A crock pot (slow cooker).

And maybe a good sex swing (if that counts as an appliance).

HugAPanda:

I'm surprised you can't get one there!

I'm sure I could find a cheap one.... but I want a good one that doesn't break in the middle of using it.

MrTibbles:

There was a great commercial here in China a few years back where this guy would tout "Imagine, the combination of pillow and tea - together at last!". For some reason, the combination of a crock pot with a sex swing made me think of this. Anyway, in Shanghai there is a CRAZY sex toy export market called the Kaixuan Gate Health Product Market. You will find what you seek there if anywhere else in China.

I have one of those tea pillows (or maybe not, mine smells more like hay). I just left SH like 10 hours ago...but I'm gonna have to check out this market next time I'm there. Any idea what the closest subway station is to it?

Line 3/4 Baoshan lu is the closest I think. Kaixuan Gate Health Product Market, No 428 Tianmu Zhonglu, near Wuzhen Lu 天目中路428号, 近乌镇路, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. The first floor is "medicine" like 3 penis pills an seahorses. The 4th floor is the freak show.

Oven, clothes dryer, toaster oven, and an actual tub, not just a hose in the bathroom. If I were to live here long term, I'd buy those things.

A blender for making my milkshakes, washer and dryer, toaster, toaster oven. Well I have a washer but no dryer so I miss that. I had a george foreman grill that was used to reduce the grease I missed that because at least I knew I was getting a healthier meal.
