Q: What is the appropriate fees for a college education in China
I want to attend a college in China for PG degree and I want to know the cost
For foreigners, besides other expenses such as visa, airfare, living and others, the fees would be:
Application fee :
-Processing Fee: 30 U.S. dollars (which covers your application for up to six programs)
-University Application Fee: 60-120 U.S. dollars depending on the program
University Fees.
Upon arrival at the university, you may have to pay:
-Tuition:
2000-4000 U.S. dollars a year (depending on the school and major)
-Accommodation:
200-300 U.S. dollars a month (depending on the school and the city where the school is located)
-Insurance:
about 100 U.S. dollars (RMB 600) a year
-Medical Examination Fee: (if not already taken in home country):
The cost of a medical examination in China depends on each city's local health and
epidemic prevention department. In Beijing the cost is around 100 U.S. dollars.
For Chinese, at state run institutions, average tuition will depend on location, from $ 450 US dollars per year on smaller colleges, to $ 2,200 US dollars per year for colleges with a reputation and in big cities. At private institutions, the rate will be higher that $ 2,200 US dollars per year.
