Q: What are the best Chinese shoe brands for mountaineering?

I've been looking at the hiking boots, but can't decide on the quality. I used to own a pair of Berghaus boots and they were great, lasted for years. Unfortunately, all the Chinese branded things I buy fall apart fairly quickly. Is it better just to pay more for known foreign brands?

I own a pair of Chinese-made Timberland boots, the same ones that are sent for export.  They cost me about RMB 600.

If you look here, you can the complete range of Timberland boots.  It all depends upon your shoe size.  Please remember that in many cases shoes sizes in China larger than a Chinese size 45 are not easy to come by.

Anyway, look here.  Hope that this helps you a bit:

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
