Not changing or making any progress in 5,000 years. If you can even call what they were 5,000 years ago "chinese." I'm Anglo Saxon, you don't see me calling myself a Roman, do you?

The delusion that China is about ready to become the center of the universe like it was in the glorious and harmonious past and all the inferior non-Chinese will kowtow and pay respect to China as China reclaims it's "rightful place" in the world.

nevermind:

The funny thing was, it never was the center of anything. They only thought it was cause no one knew they were around.

Reminds me of the story where the one emporer was thinking about sending a small group to the west to demnad tribute money. Could you imagine the laughs followed by a mass invasion of China and genocide if they actually tried to extort money from Europe in the 1400s?

I agree with some of the answers above...other than those I would say they are most proud of their festivities. There are so many of those festivals that I can't keep count. I'm not even sure how many festivals there are, but I know there are a lot like the chinese New Year, Dragon Festival, Lantern Festival etc.,

They're proud of being Chinese. It may not be for any specific reason, but obviously it is important to them.
