Calling someone a farmer (农民 nong2min2) or rural (村民 cun1min2) is already a pretty big insult, and probably carries more negative connotations than the English word "redneck". No one would say it would pride like they might call themselves 'redneck' back home. But a specific word would be 乡巴佬 (xiang1ba5lao3).

There's no concept of folksy wisdom or a noble savage in China. They really hate people that aren't from cities A LOT.

Since red is without a doubt the favorite color in China, maybe the equivalent of USA "rednecks" (or coonasses) could be "bluenecks".  Or yellow necks, which is also a favorite color.
