Q: What are the many curiosities Chinese people have about foreigners due to sex and ethnicity?
Do I have a gun or am I in a gang seemed to be the question of the day in almost every situation while I was in Korea. Korean guys would stare towards my genital area while I'm in the locker room changing into and out of my gym clothes.
Why are you black? you are not really american? (because i'm black) but yet they cheer Kobe and Lebron 2 popular american basketball players

I had an extended argument with a taxi driver once over my nationality. He kept insisting that I was not American. He thought only white people are in America. When i told him that the president of the USA is black, he hesitated, but continued arguing his point. For some people, ignorance is a sacred art.

I have been asked the "Why are you so white?" question, but only once. The thing that stood out to me the most was a person I know said that she wants to be a nerd. I told her she already was, and that I'm one too. She said I couldn't be a nerd because I'm too pretty.

Chinese ppl like "whitening" and believe it looks more beautiful. I think this is widely known by all foreigners here in China. So for white ppl it is little easier to get into this socity. For other brown, black, even mixed ppl it takes time for chinese to know them just...This socity is pretty covered in the past, most ppl dont know the world well either because they dont want to (China has 5000 history) or they dont hv chance..this is why you met that taxi driver and got such a stupid situation...however things is changed little by little....
if you run into some olddies Chinese..i think they are pretty nice to anyone...

OMG, I have a dozen stories about that. One nervous and shy girl somehow got the nerves to ask me to her table because she said her "friend" was curious about my size. Another flat out rejected me out of fear I was too big. So funny.
