Good answer, Paul.  The younger Chinese, at least the ones that I see, tend to have some weight issues.  In a class of 40 students, at least 10 - 12 will be decidedly overweight, some exceptionally so.  Quite the change from a generation ago.

Most of the girls in my office will eat a boiled tea egg for breakfast, a piece of fruit for lunch and some veggies with egg for dinner.  And still they complain that they are eating too much and are getting fat.

I have a student who said he wants to lose weight, so he's eating more rice and veggies and less meat. I told him he could cut out the rice, eat more meat and veggies, and he was totally amazed. People here seem to think that rice keeps you full. Meat does too. Personally, I'd prefer to eat more meat.
