Q: What are the names of some good vegetarian dishes?

I saw a post on this from months ago, but no one really answered with specific dishes, so I'm gonna try again...

I wouldn't say I'm a strict vegetarian (or else I'd go crazy here), but I'd prefer to not be picking little bits of gristle out of my dishes.

I already know: "pai huanggua" (spicy cucumber), "xihongshi jidan" (tomato and egg) and "disanxian", which apparently doesn't have any good translation.

I've seen other people eating a (cold?) noodle dish with what looks like sesame sauce and cucumber slices. Does anyone know what that's called?

Any other suggestions? Thank you.

麻婆豆腐ma po dou fu(Ma po Tofu), 四季豆si ji dou(  french beans), 烧茄子

yao qie zi ( Braised eggplant),

actually I see a lot vegetarian food online, but I don't see it on the menus here, so I am not sure they have it there at your place, better not type it here.

麻婆豆腐 sometimes has minced meat in it.

Don't quote me on this but I believe that cold noodle dish is Korean?  I could be wrong though.

I don't know the name of it but I know at foreign super markets like Sams Club or Walmart (not sure about Chinese supermarkets)  they have it pre packaged and ready to go.

The cold noodle dish sounds a bit like 凉皮/Liang Pi. It's reall tasty!

Other vegetarian dishes I know include:

Suanrong Xilanhua/ 蒜蓉西兰花  - garlic fried brocolli

Jiachang Doufu/家常豆腐 - Homestyle beancurd

Dabancai/大拌菜 - Salad with mixed leaves, peanuts, tomatoes

I also recommend going for a dry hot pot/mala xiangguo/麻辣香锅 because you can choose the things you want thrown in it. I recommend Xilanhua (brocolli), Tudou pian (potatoe slices), Lusun (bamboo), Donggua (winter melon gourd thingy), Doufu Pi (deep-fried tofu skin).

Thanks for all of the dish recommendations everyone!

Tudousi, is potatoes sliced in very thin slices, they kinf od fry it with vinegar and a little chili. It is quite good!

Also I think eggplant (qiezi) order it in any style, chinese people is great cooking that in anyway. Either mixed with vegetables or meat always tastes very good in small street places  to nice restaurants.
