Q: What are some good free sites for learning Chinese

I have a few books I'm studying right now and some Chinesepod lessons I downloaded. Was just wondering if anyone know of any half decent FREE sites with some decent material. Preferably ones with both text and audio (it really helps if I can hear it to make sure I'm saying it correctly).

 

I know you get what you pay for so there's probably nothing to good out there in regards to free sites, but any little extra help I can get helps in the long run.

Try the site chinesewithmike.com I used that site to help me with my Chinese 111 class and "Mike" was so easy to follow along with. 

Hope that helps!!!

ha ha , it is better to find some nice Chinese friends... then talk with them, you can learn very fast...

I do not know which city are you in China, but if you are interested, I can teach you online through skype....

I am not quite familiar with him,but i know he is from Cameroon.Yeah,his accent is strong while speaking English,but he is a nice guy.

I second Memrise. I don't use the website much but use the iphone app to slowly improve my reading of characters.
