Control. The people all need to think the same and what better way of indoctrination than to have every media source singing from the same hymn sheet.
They control everything in public. But they can't control people publicly expelling themselves ....hmmmm
It gives the people an illusion of choice. And besides, with 5000 years of history, no one channel could broadcast all the "docu-dramas" that amount of time has created.
To give the illusion of accurate, unbiased, competitive news. They seem like they are from different sources, right? It makes it seem like the news will be of the best quality. Honestly, any news that happens within one country is not going to be too varied, although the bias may be a little different. You have to compare news between different countries to get something truly different.
because people dont know whats good for them. it is the jib of the chinese communist party to tell them what they should think on a regular basis.
