Q: What are you doing for Mid-Autumn Festival? (And does anyone have a favourite mooncake?)

Any exciting plans?

I don't really like mooncakes but maybe I just haven't had the good ones? I know that last year Haagen Dasz did some that were made of ice cream... yum.

I like the plain ones with the sticky lotus-paste and a duck yolk. But there is a version with misc nuts which is pretty awesome.

The plan is to stay at home and eat as many moon cakes as I can manage before my wife gags me and cuffs me to the bed. That reminds me, I need to stock up on alcohol.

For Mabon I'll be celebrating the harvest by dancing naked around a stone circle.

Oh shit.....just realised I'm in China & there are no Neolithic stone circles here. Suppose I'd better sit at home sipping my bottle of mead!

I exchange all my mooncakes for those with coconut paste inside. One single mooncake is enough to feed me for a day, those stuffs are really stuffy. But it's a nice pretext for wine.

Coconut paste inside? Never had that but sounds damn good.  My fave flavor is red bean or purple sweet potato.  don't like those salty egg yolk ones.   Not so crazy about ice cream "mooncakes" when they're basically just icecream sandwhiches, I like the crossover ones that are sorta like ice cream and regular mooncake though.

I like the orange flavored ones and the nut fillings.

The ice cream ones are good too but really pricy for some reason.

Mooncakes ones of those things if it was out all year I'd get tired of it really quick, but cause its seasonal I like them!

A:Your potential employer is right! Purpose of the Medical exam before granting Z visa is to make sure, you won't be entering China in any abnormal and harmful to others condition.Few days after your arrival to China, you'll be required to complete another ME ... If ME in China will be OK, you'll get a Residence permit stamp into your book some 10-days afterwards. Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China.    So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards. Employer is not wrong at their demand for the pre-arrival ME from your home country hospital.   -- icnif77
