Q: What are you going to do with your kids this Halloween in China?
I guess this goes for any Western holday: Thanksgiving, Christmas and the like. Am wondering if a couple of paper decorations on the wall is enough, or if the children will be emotionally stunted with no childhood memories to draw upon when they get older.

whatever about children enjoying this festival, i just passed an unfortunate girl who had to stand in the entrance of Pizza Hut wearing some sadist's idea of a Hallowe'en costume covered in shiny pumpkins.

Halloween to me is a bit of a drag as I am an Aussie and while it is creeping insidiously into the country I avoid it like the plague.
Unfortunately the school I work for unleashes the festive monster and goes all out to celebrate the feast here. Decorations are made and hung, posters are printed and tacked to the walls, party arrangements like Hollywood are organized and we teachers are paraded around in Halloween costumes to help with the kids. I get to play guitar and sing a song and this year we are arranging the kids into teams and taking them all to a restaurant accompanied by their parents!! Insanity and calamity is just around the corner.
Halloween? 10 days to go and I am already horrified and traumatised!
Halloween is BS. I do feel like taking a hike to Pizza Hut for a cheap laugh.

I can imagine their weird looks. why the foreigner laugh that a lot ? aren't we celebrating his festival ? isn't the dinner expensive enough ?
I'm gonna stick a pumpkin on his head and stand him outside my front door.
I don't care about the kids, it's my favorite day of the year, I'm going to dress like a bat and refuse to teach any students until the day is over. I will only think and do bat things.
