Q: What are your biggest turn offs about Chinese girls?
What are the things Chinese girls say to you that make you not interested in them anymore. Sometimes they say things like, "I do not drink", "I am a virgin" or "I am a good girl" that they think makes them more desirable but it makes me think, "this girl is not any fun" or "this girl is boring." What about sa jiao? What do Chinese girls do or say to you that makes you jump ship early?

As a woman, the thing that grinds my gears mostly about Chinese women is how weak they act. They play this silly role of being sensitive and delicate, they cry easily and do that silly high pitched voice when speaking English. Wise up girls! You don't need to act like a virgin child birthed from a flower to get a boyfriend, husband or your own way.
Scandinavian:
damn straight woman, now go out back and chop some wood for cooking dinner
TedDBayer:
I like delicate women. All the women I know at home are truck drivers.
Yeah to be honest sa jiao is very irritating but you only really get that in big doses from girls that aren't grown-up. If they have an actual personality I think Chinese girls are fantastic. With the usual caveats about avoiding nutters of course
.
EDIT: the family. A girl that isn't too immature is cool - but her family usually aren't.
When they act or say if they eat that they will get fat. I went on a demo with a girl and probably a boy that liked her. We went to the restaurant she makes an excuse that she has to leave probably go to the bathroom. She comes back about 20 minutes later fakes like she was taking a bite then says she was full. I said to her: "try that one it's delicious". Her reply to me was: "what you want me to get fat"?
It was one piece of meat!! She probably tried to go to the bathroom and lose some weight before she could have even sat near food. She was definitely anorexic.
TedDBayer:
So you do go out with men and women at the same time, kinky. Are you xiaojie or xiansheng?
TedDBayer:
oops, my bad, I was wrong, you are a third wheel, I see that now.
mandydeng:
I do the same, but I make sure to wolf down as much food as I can before going to the bathroom, needless to say the guy ends up with a huge bill![]()
For me, it's the constant marital demands and the financial consequences that go with it. Also the moodiness and the tantrums.
The "caring": calling/texting 20 times a day, everyday. I understand that in China, they have hours of free time when they are at the office, but damn that's irritating
Shining_brow:
Worse, when they ring because you don't answer a text!!! (within 2 mins!!!!!!! eleventy!!)
I agree with Kaiwen, moodiness and tantrums, plus never listening or doing something, even its a little thing, that I ask for. The sometimes irrational thoughts. And some just charge too much.
"I'm a traditional girl"...
markpracy:
"Excuse me, but are u offering a suit measuring service, for trousers and coat etc"!
The jealousy and paranoia is another thing. Having to explain the identity of any female name that happens to be stored in your phone or somewhere on the computer. I never asked my girlfriend about male names on her phone because she works in a sales department of an international company where there are undoubtedly male colleagues, contacts etc. I am in business too and get the third degree over every single name.
I suppose the lack of space and privacy should be added. Chinese do not understand these concepts at the best of times but Chinese girlfriends will not think twice about going through heaps of private documents, even when they are confidential and business related. Of course, they can be password protected but that just causes even more paranoia and distrust.
These are all good.
I can add a few from personal (current) experience.
She doesn't want to compromise.
She thinks about me, apparently, but, her actions suggest she either thinks the wrong way, or more about herself.
She wants me to accept everything with her, including letting her family live with us, and us sleep on the mattress on the floor, yet, she struggled to accept the concept that I have a son. She did eventually, but, she doesn't realise that my son doesn't effect her daily living whereas her family, whom I met once before, effect me and make me miserable in different way, and for different reasons. Then, she says I should move out if I don't like it when I pay all the rent and my name is on the tenancy.
In short, she is turning me off big time at the moment, which is a shame because otherwise, she is a nice girl, and thoughtful too, and like I said, she has accepted my son now, and she has tried to help me in ways, such as lending me money when I was stuck not so long ago including with my visa.
At the moment, it is women that hang around hostels and Burger Kings, looking for foreign husbands.
masonk:
.. Who usually name themselves 'Victoria' and claim to be very successful
Traveler:
Victoria is not real. She was made up. No one acts the way she claims to.
Probably Sa Jiao. It's a bit of a turn off for me as I like him rough and ready!
You know I am a Dude right?
(This line is from the big bang theory)
My new girl has her good and bad points . She drinks beer and isn't TOO clingy , although it is hard to get her to go home sometimes which is a fucking pain in the ass . I need my space . She is a virgin , which doesn't bother me, i ain't in a rush , and don't want to take her virginity because i am not sure if i like her enough to do that to her . She doesn't really like giving blow jobs but does to please me . I think long term , so , if she doesnt want to do it now , wtf if we got married or whatever . fuck that ! One thing that bothers me is having to have a pass lock on my iPhone / iPad etc , because she tries to look through my stuff . I already deleted her from my weixin as she was constantly grilling me about other girls who are just friends and work mates . Chinese girls are like sticks of dynamite . Shit gotta go shes calling me haha
To be honest, I think way to many men here do not ponder enough before dating or becoming serious with a girl here.
Way too many men become involved with the first or second girl that helped them translate something, or set up their internet, or enter the marks in the computer, etc.
Dating in general is not an easy endeavor. In China, where you have language and even culture barriers, it can be so much harder.
A lot of men are too afraid to get rid of a gf even after they realize that it was a mistake. Fear of being accused of something, fear of being criticized, fear of not finding "another one" etc.
Like everything else, one needs to take one's time and get to know the person, ESPECIALLY when there are language and/or cultural differences. Yet, many seem to rush into things: rushing into going steady, rushing into living together, rushing into getting married, etc.
Now, to answer the question, I would say lack of empathy. We (foreigners) are expected to do ALL the adapting here in China and are given very little leeway. Even those that take their Chinese spouse to the West, oftentimes find themselves pressured to do the adapting as well.
You will notice, that I have made my answer gender neutral, as the few Western girls who have had relationships with Chinese men, often times have the very same complaints that men have about Chinese women. Except for the "sa jiao" thing.
But I am sure that foreign women have their fair share of problems as well that as a man, I cannot even imagine.
sorrel:
I would say lack of empathy is one of the biggest problems for male AND female foreigners. Looking at the post replies on this board it would appear that the foreigners empathise with the different problems to varying degrees. That is NOT to say that any locals don't. Foreigners are accused of being clannish, but could it be because we attempt to understand the problems of others and show that through our words? (I will be accused of being racist ;o)
CARLGODWIN1983:
This is a fantastic post.
Nail on head.
I just read it to my Chinese girlfriend because she fails to understand any of this.
when they ask me for money i have in america or canada
when they say you should stop teaching and do business, what to hell is "do business"
screw you bi ch.
when they want me to tell them all my assets abroad,
when they ask why im still friends with my 2 xwives, that usually gets them kicked out of house
when they say why do you still talk to your stepdaughters , because i raised them and supporting them for 12 years. thats an investment bi ch that is none of your damn business.
when they say if you marry me , you must forget your xwives and there kids, my step daughters and never talk to them again.
nobody tells me who my friends are, get lost.
we divorce if dont, fine call your lawyer, my assets are in trust accounts in hong kong, dont trust anybody, good luck with that.
oh and the trusts go to charity upon my death, life is a bitch and then you die and screw the b....when i was young and stupid , i worked my ass off for women, now i marry rich girls and keep my money, smiling and having the time of my life.
Sjama:
These problems happen if you start a serious relationship with any girl from any country too fast. In every country there are women which are too jealous or have some strange ideas in life.
I also made the mistake of starting a serious relationship too early, but luckily she was and still is a nice girl. However, I really had luck with her and usually something bad would happen if I thrust a girl too early.
Saying "I love you" after only ten days of meeting you.
Planning the wedding minutes later.
Breaking up with you while your at the airport on the way home before planning to return to China later in the year.
Going on blind dates with family approved guys while at the same time dating you.
Having the parents tell their daughter to check if the foreigner is a spy.
Saying "I don't care about money." One month later asking "How much do you earn? How much have you saved? Do you have a house?"
E-mailing you years later after initiating the break-up saying "I miss you."
GuilinRaf:
Texting "I miss you" after only one date, or worse, after having had a chat in English corner. Once.
DaveP84:
Yeah seriously, what is with the whole "I miss you" crap? You spend the whole day with them, and then, just as you get home they call to say it. Or just as you are falling asleep as well...
Telling me "I miss you" after meeting her once. ONCE. And exchanging QQ numbers. No, really... just once. Just casually saying one thing. Just some random woman I met in Changsha outside walmart... she just randomly wanted me to follow her to her house... weirdo.
Asking me how much money I have, if I can give her the life she "needs" or not, and wanting to dump me when I claim to be poor. (first and second girl. side note: always pretend to be poor, even if you aren't)
When all they can talk or think about is being in my home country more than anything else. (first and second girl; seen vicky do it too).
When all they talk about is money (both girls, and seen vicky do it as well).
Stalking you on the train years later... in a different province, etc.
...and as Traveler says, women hanging around Burger Kings and Hostels...
Ignoring us when they are playing with their phones, even though they are not making calls but instead just taking pictures.
Selfies and the duck lips.
Wanting all the money that you earn and then claiming not to be greedy.
Constantly asking "Do you think I'm pretty" and then getting grumpy when you sarcastically say no, resulting in being either punched or bitten repeatedly.
The list is endless.
Luckily for me though, my g/f's pros far outweigh her cons.
Not being clean and having showers only once in 3 days. At the same time accusing foreigners of wasting water when we shower often!
Their narcissistic self-serving materialistic consumer driven greed.
When all they think about is of themselves and claim that it is part of the Chinese culture.
1. Time for a negative fix, hehehe: Most Chinese women treat money as their god, the material girl syndrome, dont except one for who they are. The man Must own a house, or cant provide a good life or something they say . There are billionaries that divorce, is it all about money these realationships? I dont think so! Change face very quickly, and in all respects, the monthly P.M.T is hell to deal with! Compared to western women, I would think they can control themselves much better. 2. Positive aspects for Chinese women: They are only good for one thing pilgrimes!
