Anyone have any strange Chinese neighbors? One couple to the left are very loud in bed, which is normal, just bad walls. Another on my floor is a transgender I think...a women dressing up as a man. Hard to say, though.
My neighbor is a gangster... His first wife and child lives there.... he seldom comes.. as he has got another villa too with a young chick....
Mr_spoon:
Haha one of mine's the opposite. I often see young bimbos entering and leaving, and once in a while the laopo and children come home to see their hard-working, face-giving man of the family.
But surely those young women must be here to fix his plumbery or something, because there's no such thing as infidelity in China, AM I RIGHT GUYS?
Masahiro,
I appreciate your question. OMG, the Chinese above my apartment have pissed me off sooooooo much! :( So loud and inconsiderate. (
Mostly pretty cool,, but for a few things... 1. the young man is beyond loud when he 'speaks', again this is 'normal' for Sino. 2. They block my doorway with things. 3. One of the household must come and stare as I enter/exit my apartment, even though we have lived next to each other for six months...
My experience has shown me that 99% of Middle Kingdom types honestly do not understand the concept of 'inconsiderate'. Chinese people just do what they do. It does not cross their 'minds' about how it may affect others.
The people above me have a small child that cries often, sometimes late at night, which is very annoying. They'll make noise until around 11pm or midnight, sometimes there's noise in the middle of the night, and then somebody gets up around 6 am and starts making noise. Sometimes I wonder if anyone sleeps up there. The people across from me make noise coming up their stairs and knocking on the door late at night. I don't know where they go so late, there's nothing to do in this city.
Loud talking, screaming babies, loud TV's, loud music (especially on the weekends), leave their trash bags outside their doors for an indeterminate amount of time. About what I would imagine living in a trailer park would be like....
I have no neighbors on my floor, of 4 apartments, three have been empty for two years now.
But directly above me, there is a young couple somewhere in their 30's. Those two are always changing something in their apartment. For two years now, 7 days a week, from 6 or 7 am until 8 or 9 pm, you hear the drill hammers and sledge hammers knocking things down. Then, to make it worse, they wait until 10 pm or so to move furniture around.
I have complained three times to the Admin Office, they have visited them and told them they can make noise from 9 am until 6 pm. But the Chinese male has balls, he came down, knocked on my door and handed me a piece of paper with the following words in English : ' if you don't like my noise, move out !". I just might do that !.
But the rest of the building neighbors are very nice to me, they always greet me, and do bring to me fruits once in a while. I guess I will miss them if I move.
bat22:
well i think you should wake up at 3 am and point your speakers to the ceiling and turn up the sound as loud as you can and hand him a note i chinese you dont like it move out
1, I like to order delivery food, every time they deliver my food, my neighbor will open their door and watch.
2, I forgot bring my key card and I couldn't open the door to my building, so I pressed the neighbor's room number and he helped me, when i got to my floor, he was waiting right beside the elevator... So I said "thank you" to him... then he went back to his apartment.
3, without knocking at the door , he tried to open my apartment, he could have opened it if i didn't lock it from inside...
He said he couldn't sleep because the noise of air conditioner... then we checked, I couldn't hear anything, he wait, put his ear very close to the engine,,,, and after a long time he said, I think this is the noise kept me awake every night. :-/
4, the guy was like 70 years old living with his wife, his son, daughter in law, grandchild.
My neighbors seem to like me, they always say hello. I'm the hero of my apartment, they seem to like me. Same with the local stores, cause I'm always clowning with them. One store told my friend I was their famous customer, but I wonder if they didn't mean favourite.
I live down stairs from the senior Party member of my department - it is a quiet block !

What? I am only expressing two facts, that may or may not be related !
year old post ...but I have an opinion today ..... the floor of my monstrosity of a dwelling has 4 apts. me and 3 others. ...... I have on occasion met somebody from each of them... all good and I wish to be "friends"
my wife on the other hand...... she is from "the other side of town" frowns on my befriending neighbors... thinks they might be "bad people"....( how else could tthey be rich enough to afford this place... more than a months food for 3 for a roof).......... another year of showing her that people are mostly good, an no, nobody stole them earrings, YOU lost them ................ P.S. how often do you girls ..echinacities girls ... lose an earring or 2 ... just wondering?
Pretty quiet, our neighbour across the hall has two large collie dogs and we never hear the dogs or him. The only time we have ever heard noise was from the tenants upstairs, they have gone now, and they sounded like they were walking across the floor in tap shoes all the time. Even in the middle of the night you would hear tap, tap, tap across our ceiling, not too loud but enough to hear. As I say they have gone now and it is fairly quiet.
I like my next-door neighbour... her English is pretty good, but her hubby's isn't. But they both work at the uni I used to teach at, and they're nice people. I've been invited over for dinner a few times, and need to repay that hospitality.
On the other side of the wall (in a different apt) are a few girls... they can be noisy (esp at night).
Above was a couple (and extended family) with baby... but that's gone quiet now...
