Q: What are your long-term plans and does China feature in them?

Myself i've planned for some time to move back to England when my son is 10/11 years old, but that plan's beginning to shift and change and i'm now considering a far more long-term stay here. Bottom line is finances and the realization that with the prospect of allowing mine and my wife's careers to develop on this side of the water, staying here may not mean the same level of education he might receive back home, but it may afford him a greater financial security to pursue his own interests in the long run. He's still only a nipper though, plenty of time to change our minds.

What of yourselves? And have I asked this question before? (Jesus, it's too early to be late, but I have to get to bed).

My long term plan is to go to Japan, I am studying here at the moment to hopefully give me better opportunities there. For me, China was always a stepping stone to Japan..

I won't be going back to England anytime soon!

Looking for a country with good healthcare, 28/30c average all year round and somewhere where is English is spoken more widely than here, and the cost of living is not too bad. So China doesn't really fit the bill.

My long term plan is to live a long time. Yes China fits into that plan.  I am semi retired, so I guess I am free to go where I wish. I think this country is a little like North America in the roaring 20s. I am illiterate here, so it makes things more interesting.crying

I like intrigue and adventure. But I also don't want too much. so I won't be going to Thailand or the Sudan, in the near future.

I will try very hard to leave in a couple of months. I hope I can keep my job, working remotely. The plan is to try the new place, an underpopulated island country far from everything, and if after 6 months we feel good, we build a home and have kids.

My long term plan is for my Chinese daughter to grow up in China, surrounded by her Chinese family.... with me here too hopefully.

Unfortunately, my Chinese wife's family don't have a house in the country with a fishing pond beside it.  Oh well.

I want to rule China, either as Emporer or President. I'm applying for a government grant to help me.
