Q: What is the average salary of a technical editor in China?

I am applying for a technical editor position and was asked my expected salary.  I looked online but could only find expected salaries of technical editors in America.  Does anyone know what the average salary of a technical editor in China might be?

It really depends on what the job entails.  If it is nothing more than cleaning up bad machine translated Chinese, then the typical pay is probably between 4-6k RMB per month.

If it actually requires you to have technical knowledge of a high degree, then it could be much more.

The location of the job and the type of industry will also affect the pay.  Top tier cities pay about 20-30% more than 2nd tier and they pay 10-20% more than 3rd tier as a rule of thumb.
