I know this is kind of a "how long is a piece of string" type question..
I can find out the average prices per square meter for various cities, but what is a good rule of thumb for apartment size.
So nothing special, just a living room, bathroom, small kitchen and two beds....how many sq meters could that be?
How many square meters are the apartments that fellow members live in?....estimates ok.
Most of the 2-bedroom places I've lived in were in the 90m2 range.

Well, looking at hi2u's post, I will add that I was paying 4K RMB/mo plus in Beijing and GZ.
I paid only 2800 RMB/mo for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom 192m2 place in Guilin.Most of the 2-bedroom places I've lived in were in the 90m2 range.

I would say a minimum living space would be 40sqm. Our 3 bed apartment is 100 sqm, and that can feel cramped with 3 adults and a kid living in it.
Unfortunatly, our apartment is on the one level. I would love the MILs bedroom to be on a different level.... say 6 floors higher with access via a rope ladder on the outside of the building
I agree that a two bedroom, to be even a decent place to live, must be 90 to 100 sq. meters. 90 square meters for a three bedroom must be like living in four shoe boxes. I can not even imagine two brooms in 40SMs. That does not even sound possible. My studio is 40SM.
my brother in law bought a +/- 48 sq m apartment in Tianhe Guangzhou .. 2 bedrooms .. 1 bathroom ... amazing use of space.... it sucks, but it is his, got him an infertile wife.
I live in a rented 150+ sq m of a new place..... can change to a newer on a moments notice... ok.. a month... notice... 3 bdrm - 2 bthrm .... comfortable .... 4 a/c ..... 1 fridge that I am gonna get replaced soon, it is too small for me and the wife ....landlord better listen or lose a decent rent payer in his/her lavish apartment..... if I do not get my way, I move.....simple. ...I am fair.
A two bedroom apartment? Hard to say. It really depends on the size of the rooms and how you measure. But if I had to hazard a guess, I'd have to say it's around about the size of a two-bedroom apartment.
However, if you merely want to fit 2 BEDs into one bedroom, I'd say that a 2 bed apartment should be roughly the same size as a 1-bedroom apartment. I must say I went to a great deal of trouble to give you the most accurate possible measurements here, so it had better be helpful.
I don't want a "humble" apartment. I want the asshole apartment. The apartment that pushes smaller, weaker apartments down at the beach in front of their girlfriends. The apartment that gets pleasure out of the suffering of inferior apartments.
That is the apartment that I want.
anything below 50sq metres is very humble, ive lived in 40 before, I know.....
but that was one bedroom
My house is pretty big, it's a 2 bedroom but decent dize. But then again I live in a small City. I don't know how big it is in square feet but in the living room it has 2 dining tables, a rather big kitchen, a big toilet and 2 big bedrooms.
