All of my Chinese friends I met through other friends.  I also met several in outdoor events like hiking/running/streaking.

I met some of nicest Chinese people in queues; buying tickets, getting on buses/trains/ferries, banks, hospitals, etc.  They're always so kind and happy to help push me along....no real effort required on my part, free locomotion!
