A high priced mistress is a great way too waste money here! The locals do it all the time!
OK...being honest...if you don't trust the DOW you would be a fool to invest here. Buy US treasury bonds...a sure bet...ask the Chinese government! Wink

The safe way is a term deposit in a bank. problem here is that with interest around 4% and inflation at least double that you are loosing money in real terms. Gold has taken a hit in the last few weeks but before that it was booming. I would say one of the reasons for that is that with the sharemarket being so volatile investors are looking to a safe haven, but as soon as market confidence returns there will be a departure from gold and it may drop significantly. If your investment is long term (5 years +) I would be looking to quality shares as historyb has shown things always return and then rise again over time. Are there managed funds available in China that are from reputable companies.
