Q: What Chinese dishes have you found that are the same here as home?

For me, sweet and sour pork. You know, the one with deep-fried, battered pork covered with loads of that sickly orange sauce. Absolutely love it, a great discovery.

Almost none, to me they taste better here.

Besides sweet and sour pork ( and maybe the chicken version too), I have found that chicken in orange sauce, and in lemon sauce are quite similar too.

Once I was in a dongbei restaurant and a dish of meat, potatoes, and other veggies was served with little cornbread cakes. They actually tasted pretty close to a lot of the cornbread back home... it was awesome

But other than that, I cant recall anything else that was vey similar.

There's a beef and potatoe thing that tastes EXACTLY the same as my Dad's stew. SOmetimes you can be lucky enough to find ribs too.
