I like Club BK, Vicki can be found there slurping down a coke and doing a dance called the onion ring frizzle.

Club Geisha, Dada on the odd day and an underground salsa bar on Hengshan Lu (sorry mate, don't remember the name). Also Windows, if you're into that scene and that treehouse style club that can be found further down Hengshan Lu.

Personally, I've always found the clubs in Shanghai to be a bit lacklustre tbh..

You can type these names into smartshanghai. Best to check the events and see what music is being played that night, everything is hit or miss.

The best road in the City for a bit of  a club/ pub crawl is Donghu Lu IMO.

It has:

Shanghai Brewery, liquid laundry, Le Baron, Monkey Champagne (Best hip Hip club in town) Craft, Lune, and a great Family Mart. Also Sichuan Citizen if you get dinner too.

Underground clubs with decent DJs:

Arkham (Best music I've heard in Shanghai has been here, but if there's not an international DJ in town it's lame. More of a venue than a weekend go-to. Watch for events.)

Shelter

Dada (more of a dive bar)

Lune (More of a lounge)

Monkey Champagne (Only hip hop club I know of)

Nicer places with decent music:

Le Baron

Unico

M1nt (Can get free drinks during the week if you know the promoters)

Bar Rouge (can be ok on a Thursday if you brings girls and drink their drinks.)

Chinese-y Clubs (For ballin on a budget, get on the promoters' guest table)

Myst

Fusion

Muse

M2

Late Night/ Early morning (Nothing else is open)

Amber

Lola

The Mansion

estern:

Your list made me sad. I used to be in touch with the Shanghai nightlife, but it was over 5 years ago that I left Shanghai. Except the old classics like Bar Rouge, Mint, and Muse I've barely heard of any of them. Just makes me realise that the city I once knew so well has moved on without me.

Haha well 5 years in SH is like 15 anywhere else. I've been here a little more than a year and I've already seen a few favorites close down.

I recommend a nice, solid, hardwood one that can inflict severe damage to a few Chinese guys' faces.
