Get someone else, or a small gang, to physically harm you.

You live in China all your life and you do not know anything. They will do nothing. They will tell your mother.

They can beat you up (or try to) just like the regular taxi drivers can do if you don't behave. Best way to deal with the illegal taxi drivers is to ignore them and only use legitimate taxis.

i got one in hangzhou. I didn't beat him up but he said that and police even start to threat me with the visa issues and so on.Besides i got a witness that stated clearly that i didnt beat him, chinese, but they kept on threaten me.

Do not mess with an illegal taxi driver. In some western provinces they are more powerful than the actual police force. Strange I know, i didnt believe it when i first heard but the there is a lot of truth behind it Its down to the fact that in the 1600s  Western China was an extremely remote and insular area and famine was rife in both the urban areas and countryside. Up stepped illegal taxi drivers and single handedly brought a turn around in the economy of Western China. They did it through a series of transport reforms, similar to those introduced in Transport 21 by the EU. The EU will in fact openly admit to the fact that their idea for Transport 21 was inspired by the illegal taxi drivers of Western China in the 1600s. Due to the fact that these taxi drivers saved countless lives (through improving the economy which in course stopped the famine as they were able to stop exporting their foods as money was now being internally generated) they are seen as demi-gods in the west and should in no way be messed with

why don't you pay if you take his taxi. if you don't like illegal taxi just leave it alone. be honest.

If the car has central locking (in the UK they are often controlled by the drivers footbrake, i.e. so long as the driver has his / her foot on the brake the doors remain locked), then the illegal taxi driver could phone some friends and agree to meet them in some deserted place with you in the back of the taxi. I don't imagine the result would be pretty.

I asked some of my police friends about the Black Taxis, and they told me that while most of them are not full members of any organized criminal gang, they do need to pay them a cut or a fee which may be a fixed amount or may be a percentage of what they make.  So, any interruption on the cash flow will be dealt with.  Usually, this is limited to threats, intimidation and beatings but in some occasions can lead to murder.

On top of that, they dont pay taxes (like "Gypsy" cabs in New York City).
