I figure I would ask this since there's so much "why do you stay if you hate China" and "Why do Chinese hate blacks" and that sort of thing right now.
So, what is it that Chinese people really hate?
Is it mainly history? The west has a monstrous history of imperialsim.
Maybe it is the level of development. China is proud of its culture but it obviously fell behind the west in development and is just now catching back up.
Another thing could be the fact that China does all of the manual labor for many companies in Europe and America.
It could be anger at our apparent lack of conformity. Chinese seem to put enormous value on being "normal", and I think us westerners speak our minds too much. From their perspective, we might be putting our foot in our mouth an awful lot.
So, Chinese users, your opinion please!
Koreans: Steal all Chinese culture, always have plastic surgery, very loud, smoke everywhere
Japanese: Blah blah blah
Vietnamese/Philippines: Steal China's precious ancient islands. Aggressively bully and oppress China AND hurt China's feelings.
T**w*n: Officially, because they are full of prostitutes and destroy Chinese culture. This is the official reason why Chinese hate them, officially.
Black people: So poor, cause all the world's crime.
White people: Make China poor, cause China's overpopulation, declining birth rate, harm China through policy differences, destroy Chinese culture.
Teabeatans, Uygars, Zhang, etc - Most of them have lead minor, small-scale attacks on China at some point in the last 1500 years (for example, the minority which must not be named laid a brief siege to Chengdu back in the 700s), so slaughtering civilians by the thousands and making them 3rd-class citizens is nothing but fitting revenge for humiliating China. It's them who oppressed China. The Chinese are merely resisting brutal Teabeatan tyranny.

This would actually be a legitimate reason to hate white people but, unfortunately, most Chinese are too damn stupid to have anything but the most vague ideas about their own history. I've had the opium wars and the unequal treaties brought up in English Corners, and most Chinese are very angry, but have no idea when these events took place, or what countries were involved (they generally assume it was all America's doing).
Generally, though, the Opium wars weren't amazingly effective compared to Colonial efforts elsewhere, mostly because the Manchus beat us to it. The Chinese were far more victims of Eastern Imperialism than Western. Western powers established a few ports (most short lived), and got a few unfair trade rights. The Manchus, for three hundred years, ruled China with an iron fist, handing out the death sentence for everything right down to haircuts (lose your hair, not your head).
Ok
There is not much I don't agree with in your post
However lets turn it around and put the shoe on the other foot.
you are in your home country and there are foreigners everywhere
trying to change your lifestyle and customs or faith.
admittedly there are far less foreigners in China .
But maybe you might be considered to be the thin edge of the wedge .
I can understand the resentment Chinese must feel with westernization
as I hate that a minority has more rights than me in my country.
and trying to change me to their way of life.
we can be over opinionated from time to time
so as it has been said before
Don't judge just try to understand
good question
TedDBayer:
But this happening at home, pushing for Islamic laws etc, wearing turbins with RCMP uniforms, carrying daggers, even illegal carrying hand guns,, thats not Canadian
GuilinRaf:
One of my friends back home defended this case. Man tries to kill his non-Muslim wife. Defense was that he was acting in accordance to Sharia Law. Problem is his wife is not Muslim. The jury did not buy it and he was sentenced for attempted murder. Now they are calling the jury "racist".
philbravery:
That is the base of my post
Maybe the Chinese are smarter than us on this point
they will not go kicking and screaming into the Multicultural world
they just tell them to F off and personally I don't have a problem with that
We have a saying If you don't like it go back where you come from
and we seam to be all talk
The Chinese actually back it up
there are thing's I don't like about China
and some things I do feel strongly about
However I would rather clean up my house first

Well you could take the word Hate which is a strong word. And you could take the word Love which is also a strong word. There are two types of people in the world. Those that Hate everything and those that Love everything. If your gonna be 100% on something its either or and not 60% Hate and 40% Love. You shouldn't let other influence you if your a positive person and they are negative you just go your way and be positive while you let the negative person be negative and worry about yourself.
Tapwater:
When I first got here I had a pretty positive outlook. Now after months of loneliness, illness, and frustration I think I've begun to turn toward the dark side.
Sugarcane, (the comment box is bugging out on me)
The thing is, it is human nature to remember the negative more firmly than we do the positive, even though we appreciate the positive more. I've traveled a bit, and even from city to city in the US, you will always hear someone say, "Welcome to the Big Apple." "That's London for you." "This is China."
So if a visitor to any culture outside of their own sees something that they have been brought up to acknowledge as rude or unsanitary or unscrupulous, it will be perceived as negative, and excused as their culture, in this case, "This is China." It's how it is reconciled in the foreigner's mind.
Some foreigners are more... accepting/tolerant of the differences while others might have their panties wadded or sticks so far up their asses they are unwilling to bend or think outside of their own neat little box. The first are more open to learnin about different cultures and the latter are under the impression that, since they are the guest, everyone should bend to their beliefs/values. They are the ones that should stay home in their own country, move to the backwoods of... wherever and NEVER EVER breed.
