Q: What do people do about deodrants here?

I can't seem to find them at regular supermarkets. Also it would be really helpful if someone could tell me where I can buy original AXE Deodrants in Shenyang?

??? Is this really a difficulty ??? Either go to the cosmetic section of the first supermarket you find or rub raw onions under your pits. Before coming to China, I thought the deoderant thing was a fact -- since I've been here I find that it's just not true. Can get the stuff easily.

GuilinRaf:

In the big cites you can, but not in the smaller ones. They kept giving me room deodorizers or "pot puri" (sp.?). Now, since coming to Beijing I no longer have this problem.

I bring at least a 6 month supply when I come here.  All they have where I am is AXE spray.  I prefer real deoderant, not propane spray.
On a side note, why is women's deoderant here non existant?  Do locals like foul smelling females?

TedDBayer:

don't all the women shower when they come over and shower when they leave?

I'm not sure about that particular brand you mentioned, but you should try to find a Watson's in Shenyang. Watson's stock a wide range of deodorants, spray and roll-on. I usually bring a year's supply from home, but when I do run out, Watson's is one of the best options.

I just brought it with me. Two sticks will last me more than the amount of time I'll be here. That way you can also get exactly what you want. Young women here tend not to smell as much because they do not sweat like Western women do. Why sell deodarant if no one will buy it?

Up here we have a network. If a guy heads back home and the rest of us (5 guys) don't. It's his responsibility to "stock up" and distribute when he returns.

I bring my favourite from home at a year supply at a time. But, I reccomend hitting a watsons. The Niveu or Rexal brands are foreign (Both German, I think) and are as good as anything you'd get back home.
