Q: What do you guys think of CCTV9?

I only watch the news and travelogue program because I don't have a lot of time.  Is there any value to watching any other program on the channel.  Also if I go to buy a satellite dish, what is the best package to get and why?  Thanks

I wouldn't waste time / money buying a satellite dish.

there are plenty of web-sites you can down-load quality TV programms if you want to watch other types of TV.

Apart from anything else, you would have the headache of getting the thing working and resolving problems (if there were any)

ScotsAlan:

I agree.

I don't think I have watched TV for about 4 years now.  Even back in my home country. Before I came to live here, I went a year without a TV. The old one packed in and it was a waste of money to buy a new one.

I am not sure we can see that. Only English language channel we have is CCTV News, which blows, but is sometimes chosen as background sound as at least it doesn't have cute speechbubbles and funny sounds all the time

I think they just cut and past video with their own narration of what took place. I watch the BBC World New and PBS from America.
