In PRC, that is.
For myself, most likely either a heart attack/stroke within the next 5 years or I will finally succumb to my Dysthymia.

Probably not while I'm here but eventually .. the filthy toxic air and the poisoned water.
Crash in a jetliner. I figure the odds eventually catch up with you...
remember the big ones? the 74Bird (TWA 800) that came apart over Long Island Sound,,,, maybe Concorde at de'Gaulle.... or like flight 9525 where that sadistic, sick bastard crashed it on purpose..... yeah, probably airliner crash.
BHGAL:
fyi... speaking of dodging a bullet..I was on Korean Airlines flight 007 (Anchorage to Seoul) on August 28, 1983. . On september 1, 1983, the Russians blew that flight up.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_Air_Lines_Flight_007 now I am back about 30 years and they still can't find MH370diverdude1:
wow! that is trippy. fkn soviets shooting down commercial airliners. doesn't get much more heinous than that.
I was trying to book Concorde a few months before it all came to an end that fateful day in July, 2000. wife just wouldn't let me spring 5k usd for r/t JFK/CDG. Told me regular (subsonic) service is good enuf. women just don't understand Aviation !! (flame on gals)
old age at 99 +362 days.... starting the 100th birthday party too soon and foolishly falling down the stairs on the way to replenish the liquor cabinet.

this is why you should always shave a significant oversupply of booze !
Smoking.....or some arsehole in a BMW stupidly cutting me up to save himself 5 seconds in a queue!
In PRC, especially the big cities the cause is highly likely to be pollution related.

Beijing
In other parts of PRC the overall effects are still there.
It is probably going to be sooner than many have expected.
Take for example, the Qori Kalis glacier, the largest tropical icecap, I don't think Peruvians expected this happening in 33 years --- July 1978 photo vs July 2011. Same thing happening to glaciers in PRC, the Himalayan ranges originated ones except the photos are more difficult to find (for the sake of "social harmony"?).
Shining_brow:
Not surprisingly, same with the glaciers in New Zealand...
Personally, I'm not a HUGE fan of the Global Warming catastrophe.. this planet has seen MUCH worse - and still come back.
However, I do definitely think humanity needs to a real good look at itself, and take responsibility for their actions - and DO SOMETHING about it! And not just because money is involved!
Whether we accept that we have something to do with global warming or not (and, let's remember, we've really only been in a slightly warmer period of an ice age - things which come and go), we have destroyed a lot of the environment in other ways - masses of trees cut down, forests and species decimated, rivers, lakes, seas and skies so badly polluted... And very very few willing to do anything (effective) to stop it! Not while still living in comfort.
earthizen:
I use my own experience primarily when it comes to global warming, comparing what I and other people wore when I was a kid in winter times and today, the remarkable difference is undeniable. And then, there are data and photos. The graph and photo above are from http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ for example. Earth will be around but not the environment conducive for the majority of existing lifeforms to survive while Earth 'take a break', this indeed has happened many times.
If they think property prices in PRC is too high (mainlanders think high price means they have value/face, because they equate money with their worth), wait till they see the figure on their utility bills in the not too distant future, hahaha.
hi2u:
Where did you grow up? Every winter has been becoming increasingly colder for the past 10 years. Ice in the arctic was building so fast a couple years ago that an ice breaking ship had trouble breaking it apart when another ship got stuck in it.
earthizen:
Where did you grow up? What about the duration of winter, getting shorter or longer? Trying to lie with statistics? Grow up.
Both my experience and NASA's evidence on global warming contradicts your statement. I trust my own experience and NASA more an argumentative egotist.
getting run over by a car.........several times, just to make sure i am dead.
oh, it didn't... well then I'll have a new cup
I am pretty sure the thing in China most likely to kill me is something stupid like leaning against a wall and then falling through it from the 23rd floor.
