Soufun.com might also be useful, I found most of my accommodations in China using this website. However many ads are posted by agents, many are also directly posted by landlords, make sure to rent from the last to avoid agent's fees.

Here's the direct link to renting in Suzhou: http://zu.suzhou.soufun.com/

I pay 2000 RMB/month for exactly that, in a short term rental property. It's in the education district of tne SIP, close to Dushu Lake and the Liverpool Jiaotong University.

There are fewer one bedroom apartments in SIP than in the other areas of Suzhou and this generally means you get a better deal (yuan/meters squared) when you look at 2/3 bed apartments. For a 2 bed apartment in Guidu Hua Yuan we pay 3900 and its just next to rainbow mall and central park in a great area.

DrMonkey:

That's probably a better place that the SIP itself, largely worth a daily transit to the SIP :)

A:I ain't sure if this will help, but I used to say ...:"Never stop sending your CVs, not even if you already have an interview invitation!" MS degree is completed online ... That might be the reason 'cause I don't think employer in China can secure legal Working permit by presenting degree completed online. TEFL Course completed online was/is acceptable, but I'm not sure about your MS ... Have a look at the requirements for Z visa in China ...  Good luck! -- icnif77
