Q: What does your Chinese gf/wife...bf/husband do that drives you crazy?

so funny
when you ask them to help you in something like official documents, getting something on taobao, reservation for flight ticket on online. they make a facial expression like if you are about to kill them or hang them up side down. they get annoyed whenever you ask them to do something for you.
everything has to be put away in plastic bags to keep the dust off them
from shoes to clothing
from the toaster to the good China
That is fine if only she would label the Bloody bags!
so I know what is in them 
it could be worse I guess

this wouldn't happen to be combined with the windows having to be open all the time so the home gets really dusty ?
when seeing another foreigner she starts the grabbing my arm, tapping and pointing routine and shouts "look! .. look!!" sometimes she does this when the guy is standing right in front of us. so embarrassing .

Perhaps you should educate her about foreigners, that the world has a lot of different people, this will save you embarassment when/if she leaves China and she won't be so overwhelmed. (since you are a foreigner, why hasn't she gotten used to it?)

It's when I ask him something (more than once) he doesn't answer me or pretends he hear me while he's using a computer. it really drives me crazy especially when he pretends he hear me,but in fact,he's not by asking me what's your question again?
My mother in law and I complain about him,He's Improving,but still a long way to go.
Is that true husband says a lot of western guys are like that? I know his older brother does ,slightly better than him tho.

why do you talk to him when he is busy ? Not sure this is a western thing to not listen, but it is normal to be able to do something without interruption, so maybe instead of just talking, you should start by saying "darling" or his name or something, to establish weather there is contact. I am sure he will hear you and turn his attention to you when he has a moment

He's like that even he's not busy.I guess it's became a habit and hard to change.

don't let him use that excuse on you. when you try to talk to him and he is busy he should tell you to wait a minute.

My wife, and mother of our son. She said this, when she comes angry "from me" for simple small reason, or when i complain about something I do not like here. believe me, it is really hard to bear off. I want leave, but not alone of course.

Does anyone else know someone who just completely stops listening in the middle of a conversation? My wife will ask a question and then not bother to hear the answer. I'll spend a few minutes replying to what she said before I realize her end of the conversation is over because she is completely enraptured in whatever website she's surfing. It doesn't matter what language I'm speaking in.

When we go out to eat, I always ask her what kind of food or which restaurant we should go to. The same answer will always be given "Anywhere will do, you choose". So I do choose but then......
The same sh1t everytime. She will find some irritating little reason to criticize the food, the service, the atmosphere, literally anything!
Then aim the criticism at me for choosing to go there.

I appreciate Chinese people and their diversity, I also do feel that foreigners here tend to make excuses for Chinese that are being plain rude...like it is their culture to be rude like that. I feel that all people have a conscious, but some people choose to be stubborn, so I think that perhaps as foreigners we should not always say..she's/he's Chinese...but instead acknowledge when they are wrong and address it. I have noticed that it is guys that usually do this (someone in the other similar post spoke about the tendency for Chinese girls to whine and be overly girly etc forgot what it's called). But as a coloured foreign girl I have found that when Chinese girls are with their boyfriends..on subways, in shops etc they overly do the foreigner pointing thing, obviously speak about you and look at you, make faces and their Chinese boyfriends are usually embarassed and ignore them and give disapproving treatment, but it seems that foreigners are afraid to correct their Chinese girls...or maybe it is attractive to behave like that?

The general put downs. It amazes me how negative Chinese people are with their loved ones. Drives me nuts, she doesn't even know she's doing it cause it's just natural.

I just put that down to 'culture' or even 'she's just being more honest' , or 'she thinks that's ok'. I know you may call that BS, but otherwise I'd be verbally ripping her a new one daily!
Marriage is all about compromises, that's one of my compromises.

nevermind, well put, really well put. I experience this kind of behavior nearly every day. When I question "why", I am given almost the same reasons as you mention. I hate it - I truly hate it and there will be no divorce, just one day, when she is out, I will take my suitcase, my passport and go home -- it's that bad.

Well, with my wife it isn't cruel so much as annoying. I wouldn't call her abusive.

Again we agree....this one is almost unbearable and I have tried every conceivable way to address it to no avail.
She digs her tallons into my body and starts pecking at me with her Psychotic Shrilling Voice.
She works all day. Then as soon as she gets it, her face is glued to the iPad. You could say that is annoying.
Leaves the toilet seat up, never clean the home, never makes the bed, she doesn't like carrying bags of shopping even if it's clothes she's bought, just a lazy so and so. I believe I'm just a donkey to carry things for her and a housemaid service. However I'm a patient man, and revenge will surface.
I usually tell her to return to her parents., she think's I'm just joking.

well, same with me, she just don't like to do anything at home, I have to clean the apartment, make the bed, cook and wash the clothes, so i asked her why she doesn't help me and she said chinese man have to do everything so you too, we both works and i think it is unfair to do everything alone, I think the apartment will be a mess if i dont clean everyday
in reference to the above stuff
my wife doesn't use my toilet (prefers her squat thing) , constantly cleaning the apt., makes the bed every day, and if she buys it, she packs it..........and that damn sitting on the end of the couch so she can massage my feet/legs drives me nuts/crazy
She's constantly on her phone texting and/or qq-ing her friends..
It really pisses me off when my hubby spits in the shower,
takes a nap in front of the TV while it is working, picks his teeth with a toothpick after the meal while others are still eating, forgets to flush the toilet, says it's unhealthy to eat cold fruit in winter (did you ever hear about hot fruit?) , turns the kitchen into disaster when cooking (he is a good cook though), watches Chinese talent show on TV ( I don't understand why women on that show try to sing like men & men sing like women? Why doesn't everyone sing according to their natural pitch range?) Yes, I can't stand hearing that all the main scientific achievements were made by Chinese & that China is the world leader in almost every field.
Mine seems alright except asking me when am I going to sleep...she can't fall asleep without me ahhaha, needs 'baobao'
