For me, if Iron Maiden came I would die a happy man.
11 years 8 weeks ago in Arts & Entertainment - China
The Prodigy Or Rolling Stones. they come to Czech just right after the Wall ( or Iron wall/curtain .. i do not remember the english name and dont want google it ) fall ... Maybe the history will repeat
Most of the bands / musicians I would want to see are no longer together or have important members who are now dead, but let me see:
Pink Floyd
Neil Diamond
Barbara Streisand
The Eagles
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Bjorn Again
Charice Pempegnco
Shoot, you know you're getting old when most of your favourite musicians are dead!
Pink Floyd live at Tiananmen Square.
Frank Zappa (yeah I know he has passed) but the title said want.
darkstar1:
Zappa! A fantastic idea. Throw Captain Beefheart in for good measure and it's a win-win plan!
Traveler:
I can just see the tanks returning to Tiananmen Square as soon as Pink Floyd sang "we don't need no thought control."
Maiden would be cool!!! I wonder how many Chinese actually know of them... I've met a few metal-heads, but they seem to think GnR is metal...
I've quite a few bands I'd love to see come, but most names will mean nothing to most ppl on here (unless you like your power/prog/symphonic/goth metal bands!)
Robert Plant is touring Australia...!!!
(Oh, and Ozzy got back with Sabbath for a tour... not sure about that one....)
Shining_brow:
TBH, not one I got into...
Blind Guardian (and Demons and Wizards) are my first picks, and Nightwish with Anette Olzen.... and Gamma Ray.... and and and... :p
bill8899:
Thanks, I'll look them up. TBH, I'm also not fond of DT.
What do you call Arch Enemy? Melodic death metal? I can live without the growls but like the rhythm.
manasyt:
I grew up with metal but the harder stuff
Thrash and so on...
Prong
Voivod
Coroner
Godflesh
Exodus
Testament
and 100s more
The Red Hot Chili Peppers! Or any band with an attitude.
AC/DC?
I don't like them but KISS put on a good show.
To reverse the questions what rock and roll bands would love to come to China and party, too bad the Sex Pistols aren't around. China needs Punk bands, actually even Funk bands, anything.
darkstar1:
On the Sex Pistols front - former frontman John Lydon's band Public Image Limited are in Beijing and Shanghai in March - an event I can't wait for. PIL musically speaking in my eye are streets ahead and far more interesting than the Malcolm Maclaren-driven money-making facade that were the Sex Pistols. Still, they had some good songs - "Bodies" being my favorite.
TedDBayer:
The first song I listened to in China and while going down the Li River on a raft, The Ramones, I Want to be Sedated. I needed something to break the calm.
It doesn't matter. Unless the entire band have degrees, they're not welcome under the new Chinese guidelines.
