Q: What is the funniest English worded t-shirt you have seen a local wearing?
This one I saw the other day:
"It is illegal on other planets to lick doorknobs"
Second question:
What would be a great crazy Chinese character t-shirt be for foreigners to wear to make the locals laugh?
at a Provincial English speaking competition, all the participants had photo's shown on a large screen before they came on stage to speak. One quite pretty girl was shown wearing a t-shirt:
"I scored last night"
I saw one it said : FUCK U with a middle finger picture!
No joke! It really did
I see Stupid People!
mattaya:
Another one I saw was a shirt that said: "I'm with Stupid!"
Shining_brow:
Once again, proving your ethnicity...those aren't 'stupid', but 'amusing'. And "I see stupid people" comes from.....? (any good wholesome American will know the answer to that - as well as a stack of English, Irish, Scottish, Canadian, Australian, Kiwi...e tc etc...)
mattaya:
yeah if you want to get punched in the face! It's stupid funny! I got your point!
mattaya:
who would actually wear a shirt that says "I'm with stupid!" I don't know if somebody would want to walk around with a shirt that says those things! It is amusing but usually off of reading it off of some website not walking around town with.
mattaya:
Shining_brow if I get a shirt that says "I'm with stupid" or " I see stupid people" would you wear it? I'll get you one if you say "yes"!
deefoe:
is this a joke. I proudly wore my "i'm with stupid" shirt in jr high school. i need to locate the F U w/ finger tshirt. that would be interesting to see here
mattaya:
deefoe that was jr. high. not cool anymore bro! And if you want I'll get you that FUCK U shirt with the middle finger picture just so that I can see you walking around town with it. But don't blame me if a local takes it the wrong way and decides to punch you in the face! Don't say I didn't warn you! But I'll get you one if you want to walk around with it if that's what's gonna make you happy.
Shining_brow:
Nope - seen the shirts being worn, wanted one! (preferably the "I see stupid people"... also want the "How about a nice big cup of STFU")
rich45:
mattaya, no one gets punched in the face over a t shirt. maybe in your country they do. but not in U.S.A.!
fish79:
There are several people in this world that I find obnoxious and you are all of them.
thedude:
I want a shirt that says "I see stupid people". I would wear it everyday!
HugAPanda:
Mr. North Carolina... those are actually pretty popular shirts... especially among red necks (no offense to red necks). Certainly you've seen them in North Carolina, where you are from. and you can buy ME an I'm with Stupid T-shirt. And I can wear it as we walk arm in arm through T-Square.
One shirt I saw had the liability disclaimer for some electronic device printed on it.
Since I work at a college, I see a lot of English words on shirts, although most of it is garbled. Half the time they aren't even real words, just random letters. One of the most interesting has a young fashionable woman with a purse on it, and then "girafe" spelled big, with other smaller words that are supposed to go with it. What's interesting is the word giraffe is spelled correctly and incorrectly on the same shirt. With other words like "forver," "blule" and "hoeyr," it's a classic. If only I could find it and buy it for a friend.
Not stupid worded as such, but I did see a high school student wearing a t-shirt that said "Little Miss Jailbait" with a Mr Men picture.
mike695ca:
Ive seen this too a few time but its always men wearing it.....
A middle aged man with a shirt that said "I piss myself." It was on one of those trains where the seats face each other, and I had to look directly at him. Man, that was a long train ride.
Middle aged woman with a glittery shirt that said "Herpies"
A little kids shirt that said "I (picture of china) Tibet but hate Dalai Lamma" except it was horribly misspelled
LIFE IS A JOURNEY SEXZY BOYS FLOWER
NO MATTER YOU WIN FIND BLAZER MUCH
GUCCI IS STILE WOMEN SING HAPPY JOY
I swear my friend has this shirt. she bought it for this very reason.
I saw a guy in the Summer Palace once wearing a black t-shirt with the German flag at the back and on top of it written in big capital letters 'ENGLAND'.
bennyfulltrack:
You do know that their is black in the German flag? How can you know that there should be a German flag on that BLACK T-shirt?
I saw a this gnarly 80 year old woman in a small village with a red t-shirt that said "YOU WANT THIS HONEY POT" and an arrow pointing to the crotch area. Best thing ever.
at a Provincial English speaking competition, all the participants had photo's shown on a large screen before they came on stage to speak. One quite pretty girl was shown wearing a t-shirt:
"I scored last night"
OK in the past year and a half I have seen so many......
One that said "Size Matters"...on a young hot girl.
Or "Spread Beaver" on a 30 something mother.
I am having a T-Shirt made that says "给我啤酒好吗" (Give me a beer please).
I saw one last week that said Silver Sucks I tried to tell her it was spelt silva but she just looked at me funny ![]()
I saw one with some really dumb Chinglish. It said "Just do it"- what the Hell is that supposed tomean? Just do what? Even worse- it had a check mark on it, as if whatever needed doing had already been done!
Man Chinese people sure are crazy sometimes
instant_noodles:
so , you don't know what "the hell u should just do"? "just do it is NIKE s' motto
, which Universe u live in?
xinyuren:
@instant_noodles: I think he is just joking. You don't get foreign humor.
Amonk:
Yeah that was a joke. Nike's advertising campaign is ubiquitous in the west, everyone knows "Just do it", so it's poking fun at the nonsensical nature of marketing in general.
I had some made and give them away free. They say "Ted Was Here"
One in Beijing saying dad's toothbrush. Another in Handan an old guy was wearing said do you wanna take a ride on my disco stick.
One with a British flag and the words "New York New York" above and below, quite popular here.
Not a t-shirt but a hat with just the word "fuck" on it.
I say a middle aged woman with a tee that said "Like a Rock Star". I died laughing. At least it was spelled correctly
A little girl with a t-shirt that read
When I grow up, I want to be a whore
What's the social etiquette here?
Dare I point out what it means or leave them in blissful ignorance providing comic relief to stressed foreigners?
i saw a middle- aged woman , wearing a t-shirt with the pepsi logo , and " penis" written below it, and one of my Chinese co -workers wore a t -shirt , that had an utterly meaningless list of English letters scrambled all over it , but , however, after scrutinizing it , we managed to "unscramble" 3 words -" chunky-penis boys"![]()
