Q: What is the funniest thing you've seen happen in China?
Well, there was this one time I was talking to a friend, and a young guy driving a small truck drove by me, staring the whole time. He continued to stare even though he'd already driven past, then said hi. He wasn't paying attention to where he was going, and could have easily run into someone. My friend and I laughed afterwards. Some of the chinglish I've seen really cracks me up. Also, some of the things my students say to me when they're trying to speak English. One student in particular, it doesn't matter what he says, it's always funny. Despite his bad English, he has a great grasp of humor, I don't know how he does it.
i have seen many wu maos try to pass themselves off as americans.

I once saw this little guy in an orange robe burst into flames....I think it was in Tibet. Didn't make the local news though. Oh wait...you said funny...my bad.

Well, if it makes you any happier I saw a guy blow up one of the pumps at a gas station then go on national t.v. to talk about it. His godmother was a co-worker of mine and said she was embarrassed he went on t.v.. Have you ever heard of that particular story before?

Just about a week ago as I can calmly remember. As I was walking on the bridge heading towards 77th street, Xidan out of nowhere a scream could be heard in the nearby distance. It just happened to be a girl screaming repeatedly at her boyfriend who seemed shellshocked in utter disbelief that he was involved in a public scene....an "outcry"! There were the on-lookers, the passerby's and the nosy guardsmen all wondering, "what just happened"?!
