They told me at Bridge that one more writing mistake here and you'll have to re-do ...surprise

Never mind, I told you these courses aren't worth much ... he he

I finished i-to-i online TEFL course in 2009 for around 300 GBP, if I remember right, and I've never needed anything better.

For that fee, I also received i-to-i UK TEFL Instructor/Professor's Recommendation letter, which sits on my CV since ...

As I accept private or group of students, I develop my own way with them what depends on what I teach.

At kindies, I usually follow the house material and mostly play with the kids (in English ..).

The most important thing in my teaching world is:

"Students must like me first, then I am able to easily take them further ..."

I hardly ever use anything I picked at i-to-i, and online course with 20 in-class hours doesn't specialize in kids. I've never heard for such course. You'll most likely find quick teaching guide at any TEFL course you'll enroll.

I'd say, it's teaching experience that counts over any course you'll take, so IMO it's better to forget about 'good online course'...

I got mine on the website "groupon", just type in tefl on the website in any location and you will find lots of online courses for cheap. I paid 20 USD for mine. It's 160 hour one. It's been checked by the government and everything, its legit. Yet if you go to the actual website of these tefl places they charge 300-500usd even more...but on groupon they have these save 90% sort of things. I would check that out if you dont want to spend too much money for something you can actually use and its legit.

If you're looking to improve your kindergarten teaching skills Rob you're probably better off looking into early childhood qualifications or something along those lines. I did my tefl years ago so don't remember much about it but I don't think there was anything related to teaching kindergarten age kids, aside from probably a few common sense pointers that I'm sure wouldn't be new to you so not worth paying for.

If you were only looking for a tefl cert for visa purposes or whatever then biggj's website looks like a good place to start. I'm going to have a browse around there myself actually, I'm thinking about doing some online study and it will be interesting to see what's out there - thanks for the link biggj.  wink

Yeah its a good site, when I lived in Edmonton I used it a lot. My wife and I would go on a date night every week and there was lots of good deals for things to do like for restaurants and activities and things like that. I used it once a week a least and got some wicked deals. For the tefl things I used the company tefl full circle. It was actually 40 buck not 20 now that i look it, still 40 bucks is nothing. There are some that are around 20. A 160 hour tefl for 40 bucks?? That's hard to beat. ANd if you go to their actual wesite, the price for the same thing is 200 pounds.

TOEFL is the most common test requested by US universities and institutions. The Cambridge English Language Assessment is one of the most well-respected English certification programs recognized worldwide. It’s been around since 1913, and many international schools (as well as others) use it as their metric to determine their non-native English speaking students’ progress. TOEFL and CamELA both have online programs, and should have preparation courses as well.
